Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production Company Limited (BAPEX) was established in 1976 under the Petroleum and Mineral Resources Act, 1974. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Petrobangla, BAPEX is mandated to carry out exploration, development, and production of petroleum resources throughout Bangladesh — both onshore and offshore.

With over four decades of operational excellence, BAPEX has successfully discovered and developed multiple gas fields, contributing significantly to the national economy and energy sector.
